Its primary function is to engage mechanically with the standard Corner Castings (the large, square openings at all eight corners of a shipping container). Once engaged and twisted into the "locked" position, the twist lock securely fastens the container to the transport vehicle, preventing any movement during transit and ensuring safety and stability.

Unlocked Position: The locking head is aligned with the opening of the container's corner casting. The container can be lowered onto or lifted off the locks.
Locked Position: Once the container is seated on the locks, the head is rotated 90°. The head now rests securely inside the corner casting, locking the container in place.
